Goal: To help the child hear every single beat in the word .
Instruction:
The Robot: Pretend to be a robot. Robots say e-ve-ry part.
The Clap: Clap your hands for every syllable.
"Ba-na-na" (3 claps).
"Com-pu-ter" (3 claps).
The Chin Tap: If clapping is too hard, have them hold their hand under their chin. Feel how many times the chin hits the hand (Ba-na-na = 3 hits).
Goal: Using full body movement to mark the missing middle part.
Instruction:
Place 3 hoops or mats on the floor for a 3-syllable word (like "Bu-tter-fly").
Jump into the first hoop: "Bu".
Jump into the middle hoop: "Tter". (This is usually the one they skip, so make a big jump!).
Jump into the last hoop: "Fly".
If they say "Bufly", point to the empty middle hoop: "Uh oh! You fell in the hole! We missed the middle step."
